Sr Hadoop Administrator – M&T Bank USA Careers

Job Description:

This position will be a part of our Enterprise Data Services team and be responsible for implementation and support of the Enterprise Hadoop environment. This includes design, capacity planning, cluster set up, performance tuning, monitoring, infrastructure planning, scale up/out and administration. The administrator will work closely with infrastructure, network, database, business intelligence and application teams to ensure business applications are highly available and performing within agreed on service levels. The administrator will apply a strong understanding of Hadoop eco system such as HDFS, YARN, Map Reduce, HBase, Zookeeper, Pig, Impala, and Hive.

Job Responsibilities:

• Installing, administering, and supporting Linux operating systems/hardware in an enterprise environment
• System Administration and programming skills. Storage, performance tuning and capacity management of Hadoop clusters and Hadoop MapReduce routines
• Setup, configuration and management of security for Hadoop clusters using Kerberos and integration with LDAP/AD at an Enterprise level
• Solve production problems when needed 24×7 Develop and document best practices
• Deep understanding of big data, Hadoop Architecture and YARN/Map Reduce concept
• Implement High Availability techniques, Hadoop cluster connectivity and tuning, network requirements, failover, active-active
• HDFS support, maintenance, backup, restore, disaster recovery, failover management and troubleshooting

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 6 years’ systems analysis/application development experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 6 years’ systems analysis/application development experience

Qualification & Experience:

• 10+ years of professional experience in IT with focus on software development
• Solutions, Infrastructure Domain and Sub Domain Architects with emerging tech and software defined everything experience in the following areas
• Presentation, Application/ Integration/ Database Server, Platforms (Server/Client/HW/OS/Container), Storage, and Network
• Create technical documentation, including system architecture and design, use case diagrams, sequence diagrams, and class diagrams
• Integrate disparate enterprise applications and data sources and incorporate SOA principles
