Job Description:
Mattel is seeking a passionate, collaborative and driven candidate with approximately 5 years’ experience in reviewing and advising on the production of video content, television commercials and global initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
This position will work closely with the Standards and Practices Lead, to help internal and external partners identify and resolve creative issues early in the production process that are consistent with business goals. The Senior Associate will review and advise on product, partnership activity, digital assets, parental ratings, video content, including, without limitation, short-form programming, TV commercials, digital content, including user-generated content (UGC), and live-event footage, as assigned, to ensure they comply with domestic and international regulatory and industry standards, as well as Mattel’s S&P principles.
The position is responsible for
- staying informed of production schedules,
- identifying potential regulatory and S&P issues,
- collaboratively developing creative solutions that fit marketing and business objectives with internal stakeholders and external partners and,
- perform regular analysis of the competitive landscape.
- ensuring materials are submitted for review,
- reviewing proposed video content, product, partnership activity and digital asset materials at key milestones,This position will also work to resolve global creative and network clearance issues across the Mattel portfolio of brands as required and negotiate with TV networks to resolve concerns.
Job Requirements:
- Strong oral, written, and effective communication and diplomatic skills, along with a talent for nuanced negotiation, are required.
- Must be able to apply general standards and principles to specific cases logically, practically, and consistently. The position requires someone who can build strong relationships with clients and executives.
- Creative, positive, proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently across multiple teams and consistently exercise great judgment.
Qualification & Experience:
- 5 years’ production experience at an advertising agency, in-house production department, or a Standards & Practices role at a network applying internal policies, FTC regulations, CARU guidelines, FCC television guidelines, particularly in children’s programming/media and advertising.
- Experience with reviewing various content to be distributed on any media.
- Knowledge of general content policies, regulations, and industry standards, including, without limitation, FTC, CARU and COPPA, and global cultural sensitivities with the skill to enforce such policies and standards.
- BA/BS degree.
